Goonhilly Earth Station agreement allows HISPASAT to widen its television distribution services

GES (Goonhilly Earth Station), the UK teleport operators have made an agreement with HISPASAT to distribute television services across Europe. During the next three years the contracted capacity will be provided by a Hispasat 1E satellite transponder.

One of the teleport’s antennas will be utilised to transmit the service. GES will provide the transmission chain which has already been set up. As a result of this agreement the two companies will introduce an innovative commercial package to the market, aiming at the achievement of optimal flexibility, enabling TV channels to work around the usual barriers, in both time scale and cost at the time that they distribute their services.
