Oceanography SWOT satellite to be built by Thales Alenia Space


Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES), the space agency based in France, has selected Thales Alenia Space to construct the oceanographic satellite Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT). A collaborative production with US space agents NASA’s JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) acting for the American and French space agencies, SWOT is an oceanographic piece of software that will be involved in the demonstration of new applications, and follows up the operational missions of Jason-1, 2 and 3.
