Picks Kratos SpaceNet System, I-4 F2 Satellite to BE Relocated By Inmarsat for Support

Inmarsat has planned to move data and voice broadband service provisions for the Africa, Mid-East and Europe areas to Alphasat from the Inmarsat-4 F2 (I-4 F2) satellite.

They will the relocate the I-4 F2 to a different position for the purpose of creating a fourth region of L-band. To enable this, the organisation has engaged RT Logic, a subsidiary of Security Solutions and Kratos Defense’s SpectralNet for the support of TACSAT, its L-band system for mobile satellite comms.

L-TAC can deliver a satellite service similar to UHF (Ultra High Frequency) to be used with current tactical UHF radios to authorised government clients. The plug-and-play ability of SpectralNet allows Inmarsat to expand L-TAC service provisions to other satellites.
