SpaceX selected by Viasat for ViaSat-2 launch

SpaceX has been selected by ViaSat for the launching of ViaSat-2, their all-new broadband satellite with high capacity. Florida’s Kennedy Space Center will be the location of ViaSat-2’s launch on board one of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavies, planned for the third quarter of 2016.

Falcon Heavy is the most powerful rocket ever, with a payload capability more the double the capacity of the second-ranking rocket, at a third of the costs. The rocket evolved from the tried-and-tested Falcon 9 that is currently utilised for commercial satellite launches in addition to International Space Station cargo deliveries.
